The Passionate BrontësThis is a wonderful introduction to the Brontës and their family home. There is something for everyone on this tour, from Brontë enthusiasts to those new to Haworth’s leading family.
Through their letters, poems and stories the guide will lay their achievements and passions before you, weaving them into the fabric of the village and the social history of the time.
Our wish is to bring the story to life and to inspire you to discover more about the Reverend Patrick, his wife Maria and their wonderful children.
The tour meets outside the Church Street entrance to the Rev Brontë’s Church, St Michael and All Angels, at the top of Main Street. This is a gentle stroll with a relaxed pace that lasts just over an hour and covers less than half a mile. The route follows the top of the village and takes in some of the key sites before finishing the story in the Bronte Chapel.
We do walk along cobbled streets and we do venture into the Brontë Meadow. The Pennines are renowned for their weather and we do have exceptional weather. To this end the tour has a store of umbrellas and if the weather does defeat us then there is always plan B!
